Tap the water once and
the ripples fade quickly, absorbed by the inertia of the whole. But
tap it repeatedly and the ripples reinforce each other and combine to form
standing waves in water. |

"When someone endures a painful experience, such as an accident, natural disaster, assault, disease, or death of a loved one, the aftermath can present an overwhelming coping challenge. Having survived the event, one must continue to make it through every day in a world that no longer feels safe. But pain, fear, and fatigue do not need to control and intrude on everyday life. We offer a safe place where trauma victims may come to rebuild their fragmented view of the world and to re-establish their place in it. Victims regain their power and, through therapy and their own inner strength, re-create their lives." |
Releasing the grip of past experience The course of our lives is full of challenges, twists, and turns, some of which bring a welcome change while others may hinder our happiness. At times, we may even get lost along the way and require guidance to find out way back. Our ongoing struggle with life's journey shows the resilience of the human heart, body, and soul; however, sometimes we must admit that we cannot always reach our destination alone. Change can be a difficult process. Individuals who have experienced painful events may feel themselves living out these memories in the present; in fact, some people seem to be frozen in emotional shock. They have difficulty moving forward in life and growing naturally with each new experience. Distressing events also lead to life-altering difficulties, among them:
Anxiety ●
Stress ● Relationship Conflicts ● Depression ● Addictions
What if you were able to remove the
burden of past conflicts, pain, and fear that has controlled your
life? This question prompted Drs. Giessl and Hensley to study Eye
Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). It is an
effective short-term alternative to more traditional methods of
psychotherapy which simply take too long. Beyond the past, beyond the fear and pain, life is good again. Due to its surprising ability to uproot deep traumatic memories and loosen their hold on your life, EMDR is ideally suited for use in conjunction with more traditional forms of therapy. In many cases, EMDR acts as a catalyst to assist people who are stalled in therapy, helping them to move forward more rapidly in recovery. "Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and childhood abuse are among the most challenging conditions to reverse. They both present issues so profoundly painful that they defy comprehension. Our pioneering work in EMDR continues to shed light on the dark recesses of the mind, particularly memory. We are finding that present events are linked to past events, creating memory clusters that EMDR appears capable of untangling. Through the experience of EMDR, people are regaining their lives. We want you to empower yourself through our cutting-edge methods to get your life back on track.
